1)Stripes Are Sensational

Stripes have taken an all new avatar this season, graduating to an attention-grabbing trend. They are no longer plain and simple, but come in several proportions, textures and colors. They are bolder and brighter, and are combined in unusual patterns to create glamorous outfits.

Horizontal stripes look best when they are bold and wide. Narrow stripes are great for petite figures. This season, ensure you wear stripes in striking colors. You can also double up the print by sporting striped tops and bottoms. To carry off an all-striped look, however, ensure you ground the attire with classic pieces like a chic black clutch or a pair of heels in a solid color.

Stripes pair well with contrasting prints like checks and asymmetric patterns. Also, clashing prints are in this season, so don’t worry about going a bit over-the-top as far as prints, patterns, textures and colors are concerned. Autumn/Winter (A/W) ’16 stripes are much more than plain Bretons.

2)Make Things Interesting

Unique, luxurious and surprising details, silhouettes, and fabrication are in this season. They serve to elevate ordinary day-to-day outfits to A/W runway style.

Metal details and trimmings are also being seen on runways, giving an edgy twist to otherwise demure designs. Silver buttons, chains, studs and buckles will help you make a powerful style statement.

Interesting details such as sharp shoulders, corseted waists and extra-long sleeves can be found in clothes for this season. Outfits or separates that you can tie, wrap, loop, belt or hook are what designers have focused on in their runway shows, so try out similar styles that you love.

3)The Big Cats Are out in Open

Just like sparrow and owl motifs were all the rage once upon a time, now it’s the turn of feline fashion. Pussycat printed pre-fall collection of Stella McCartney has unleashed feline-themed fashion on ramps. The success of the British designer’s collection encouraged the feline trend to catch on.

Pouncing panthers, Bengal tigers, leopards, and cats have featured on everything ranging from sweaters, dresses, jackets, velvet suits, and even accessories. In short, the trend can be seen everywhere.

So, this winter try the feline trend to up your fashion game to the wildest level.

4)Bring on the ‘80s

Oversized sleeves and shoulders, body-hugging dresses, clip-on earrings, puffball skirts, oversized denim jackets, and statement waist belts are in. Sport chic was in for quite some time, but has gone into overdrive this season with athleticism being woven into wearable styles. This trend is prominently seen in outerwear with puffer coats being worn over almost all outfits, even evening wear. These puffer coats come with ultra-luxe detailing with oversized padding and varied silhouettes.

The ski-style jumpsuits is another sport-themed garment seen on runways.

Bulky outdoor wear is in and so is the rest of your camping gear. Lace-up hiking boots are versatile, and can be seen at several shows. Miniskirts and flared pants work well with futuristic-looking hiking boots.
